Description
Barnsley makes an excellent base for exploring the beautiful
Pennine hill country and secluded wooded valleys. Many such
locations recently used for filming Emmerdale, Last of the Summer
Wine and Heartbeat.
Modern Centres such as Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield are but a
short drive away and offers excellent shopping together with
museums, Galleries and many other attractions to visit.
Why not visit the magnificent city of York (approximately 1 hours
drive from the hotel) steeped in history. A sight seeing trip
around York Minster is a must, not forgetting to visit the
Shambles before returning home.
The Elsecar Heritage Centre featuring steam trains, Newcomen &
Beam engine and craft workshops is always worth a visit. The
historic village of Cawthorne features the Cannon Hall Museum Park
& Gardens, with a majestic 18th century country house set
within grounds.
