Description
Standing in its own grounds on the prestigious West Cliff of Bournemouth, the Wessex Hotel has been welcoming visitors since the turn of the century and is one of Bournemouth's leading hotels. Easily accessible from all parts of the country, the hotel offers a large free car park for over 160 vehicles.

Character and style abound in the ambience and decor of the hotel, where a warm welcome awaits you from our professional and friendly staff, who are at hand to ensure your stay with us is an enjoyable one.

Our spacious lounge is the ideal place to sit and relax or meet up with friends and sample the extensive range of beverages and snacks from our Lounge Menu, available at any time of the day.

Should you wish to practice your skills, the hotel has a full size snooker table and Reception can offer a selection of board games available for the less energetic!

All our individually decorated bedrooms are en-suite, with trouser press, hairdryer, direct dial phone, satellite colour TV, radio alarm and courtesy tray. Included in the 109 rooms are 24 premier rooms, which offer additional facilities such as fridges, separate shower cubicles and baths and queen size 5' beds with single beds underneath, making them multi-purpose for use as doubles, twins or family rooms.

Food served in our Applegarth Restaurant is of a superb quality, incorporating fresh local and international ingredients, which are chosen on a daily basis. It offers a varied and appetizing menu selection together with imaginative vegetarian dishes.

The hotel is fully licensed and has an extensive wine list for you to choose from or you may wish to opt for a wine specially chosen by our experienced bar staff to complement your meal.

The Butler Bar is an ideal venue for guests to enjoy a drink or to sample one of the many appetising light meals available every lunchtime.

If you are planning to spend the evening in the town, our Reception team will be more than happy to recommend one of the many cinemas, theatres, restaurants, night-clubs or casinos but check first that you're not missing out on any in-house entertainment before you go!

The hotel's Leisure Club has excellent facilities for all guests to enjoy; including both indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms and fully equipped gymnasium.

The Dance & Fitness Studio offers a full programme of classes which include tap dancing, yoga, line-dancing, step-aerobics and for those who prefer a more genteel pace, aqua-aerobics.

'Bodi Essentials' provide a health, hair and beauty service, which can be booked through the Leisure Club for the ultimate in pampering and relaxation.

If you prefer the beach, then just a few minutes walk from the hotel you will see the magnificent view of Bournemouth Bay, where you can swim safely in its sparkling blue sea and stroll over 7 miles of beautiful sandy beaches.
