Description
Forest Park Hotel was originally a vicarage, built on a forest site
granted by the Crown, and paid for by John Morant, whose family once
owned 425 acres around Brockenhurst, in the latter half of the 18th
Century.
Forest Park became a hotel in 1902, and apart from being used as a
military hospital in World War I, has remained as a hotel to this day.
Robin Collins has owned Forest Park Hotel since 1968 and has made many
alterations and additions during this time.
Forest Park now boasts an All-weather Tennis Court, Outdoor Heated
Swimming Pool in the summer months and Log Cabin Sauna. There are
excellent Riding Stables within the 4 acres of the hotel's grounds, and
also a well stocked, lovingly tended garden.
In winter months, when entering Forest Park, the blazing log fire greets
you adding to the warm, friendly ambience of this fine country hotel.
Within the hotel can be found an elegant restaurant overlooking the
lovely gardens. The award winning restaurant offers a wide range of
English cuisine and an extensive selection of wines. A comfortable
lounge adjacent to the restaurant has patio doors leading to the gardens
and swimming pool.
The friendly cocktail bar is the perfect meeting place for that
pre-dinner drink, lunch-time snack or to meet old friends and new.
Forest Park Hotel has 38 comfortable bedrooms with many family rooms -
some with a separate bedroom for the children, all are en-suite and are
tastefully appointed with trouser press. hair-dryer, Colour TV and Tea
and Coffee making facilities. Some of the rooms have 4-poster beds.
All rooms have views over the beautiful open forest or overlook the
secluded garden and swimming pool. The Forest Bar is ideal for that
quick snack in a 'pub' like atmosphere.
The riding stables, adjacent to the hotel offers rides for all ages and
ability.
Forest Park Hotel has ample free car parking and is adjacent to the open
forest, with marvelous walks and riding, and New Forest ponies always
trying to come into the hotel to experience the warm and friendly
atmosphere.
Brockenhurst is a short walk away with its picturesque 'water splash'
and quaint village shops.
