Description
Forest Park Hotel was originally a vicarage, built on a forest
site granted by the Crown, and paid for by John Morant, whose
family once owned 425 acres around Brockenhurst, in the latter
half of the 18th Century.
Forest Park became a hotel in 1902, and apart from being used as a
military hospital in World War I, has remained as a hotel to this
day.
Robin Collins has owned Forest Park Hotel since 1968 and has made
many alterations and additions during this time.
Forest Park now boasts an All-weather Tennis Court, Outdoor Heated
Swimming Pool in the summer months and Log Cabin Sauna. There are
excellent Riding Stables within the 4 acres of the hotel's
grounds, and also a well stocked, lovingly tended garden.
In winter months, when entering Forest Park, the blazing log fire
greets you adding to the warm, friendly ambience of this fine
country hotel.
Within the hotel can be found an elegant restaurant overlooking
the lovely gardens. The award winning restaurant offers a wide
range of English cuisine and an extensive selection of wines. A
comfortable lounge adjacent to the restaurant has patio doors
leading to the gardens and swimming pool.
The friendly cocktail bar is the perfect meeting place for that
pre-dinner drink, lunch-time snack or to meet old friends and new.
Forest Park Hotel has 38 comfortable bedrooms with many family
rooms - some with a separate bedroom for the children, all are
en-suite and are tastefully appointed with trouser press.
hair-dryer, Colour TV and Tea and Coffee making facilities. Some
of the rooms have 4-poster beds.
All rooms have views over the beautiful open forest or overlook
the secluded garden and swimming pool. The Forest Bar is ideal for
that quick snack in a 'pub' like atmosphere.
